My rating: 4 of 5 stars
"I can promise you, Noah Greyson is just a dirty little player. Nice to look at, stupid to get involved with."
With Whiskey Lullaby I discovered a new facet of Stevie J. Cole's writing. I'm used to mafia books or even the mind blowing Game series. With this one, the author embarks us on a deeply emotional story. It was sad and at the same time made me laugh. It was raw and beautiful, and I you ask me, one of the best cocktail ever.
I totally fell in love with Noah and Hannah, as theis feelings were perfectly conveyed.
Hannah, a young nurse needs a reprieve from the weight she caries on her shoulders due to her mom illness. Noah is a guitarist and singer in a local bland. Bad boy his bad reputation him. They are drown to each other, but Hannah and Noah's blossomimg feelings, self doubts, and lives are complicated and what was inevitable eventually happened, they broke apart.
"There was something like gravity pulling me in. Something familiar. Something about her that felt right even though I knew I’d ruin her."
Noah was utterly swoon-worthy, I could almost her him sing and the kindness he hides so well under his tough attitude warmed my heart. He is such a complex and beautiful character! His Grand-Ma is fantastic, I could totally picture her (I just found out she was the author's Grand-Ma, it's incredible, I love her!)
I loved witnessing their first times and the way their relationship evolved all along. The mystery, although a little underwhelming, as to why they ended up at the situation of the beginning of the book, remained intact. Miscommunication and immaturity are common mistakes at this age, and the author brought me back to my young years and first love with this book, in a small town atmosphere that felt real.
WHISKEY LULLABY is a feel-good read, about loss, saying goodbye, family, but also second chances, forgiveness and the ability to open your heart and take a chance. I highly recommend it if you're in the mood for a sweet emotional read, enjoy!
I VOLUNTARILY REVIEWED AN ARC COPY OF THIS BOOK. THANK YOU!!!

Synopsis
We all have guilty pleasures.
Mine was the boy my father took in. The guy everyone said I was too good for. The one I knew would ruin me.
But I couldn't help it. The way Noah Greyson's voice sounded when he sang whiskey lullabies to me in the dark; how perfect his arms felt wrapped around my stomach, his nose nuzzled in my hair- that's what made me fall. That intimacy was what made me so very weak. But now millions of women drift off to sleep while Noah sings the love story we wrote, and it was never meant for the world.
The worst mistake I made wasn’t loving him, it was thinking he loved me, too.
At least, that’s what I thought until now…

Excerpt
Noah, We were friends. Lovers. Soulmates… and very horrible people together. I wonder, have you forgotten me by now? Have you forgotten the promises we made to each other? Do you remember the person I became, how I fell for you even though I knew it would kill me to love someone like you? I knew better, Noah. I did. And this letter isn’t to admonish you or tear you down. No, it’s to make you see what you do to the people you say you care so deeply for. When I was with you, you made me feel safe and loved and wonderful, but in the end, I felt stupid and so vulnerable. I want to believe you never meant to hurt me; that you never meant to make me hate you. I want to believe all the things you said were true, but it’s hard for me. With everything I’ve found out since we didn’t say goodbye, you must understand why I wish I could forget you. I will forever hate that I was so weak for you, but I was only weak because I loved you. Despite it all. I'll always love you. HannahAbout Stevie J. Cole
Stevie J. Cole likes to write realistic stories with raw, gritty characters you should hate but can't help but to love.
She's obsessed with rock music, loves sloths, and has an unnatural obsession with British accents.
Her books are not recommended for the faint of heart.
