Six has been on my TBR for months and I'm really glad I finally got to read it.
Dark books lovers, if you need an action packed, fast paced read, this one is for you!
The atmosphere is dark, sometimes uncomfortably so but definitely kept me on the edge of my seat. Never knowing what was going to happen next, I just had to keep reading in order to find out how it will all unfold.
Six is a ruthless, focused, determined assassin. He shows no weakness and made it clear that he was going to kill Paisley /Lacey when the time comes. Dont look for sweet scenes or a conflicted hero because you won't find this here.
"There was nothing redeeming about him, but there was something between us."
But It certainly doesn't deter the heroine from pushing his buttons and playing with fire.
The story is told exclusively from Lacey's point of view, and being in her head and experiencing the different phases of her captivity was an amazing experience.
"Anger, sadness, confusion—I was a mess of emotions."
I absolutely love a strong and badass heroine, and in this register, Paisley is perfect. The fight never left her and she did everything she could think of in order to survive. She is clever, took the right decisions under the circumstances. Living on borrowed time allowed her the "freedom" to live things she never dreamed of, even if Six didn't miss an occasion of reminding her of her impending death. The hot and cold treatment was nerve wrecking, but also very addictive.
Tension, adrenaline rush, hot scenes and an intriguing plot... what are you waiting for?
