My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Celia Aaron is a very talented author who always comes up with addictive stories and The Bad Guy is no exception. It totally surprised me and I'm sure it will be the same for you.
With the Bad Guy, be prepared to be swept by the Sebastian whirlwind !
The story starts rather slowly but the decor is quickly set and from start to end, it will keep you thrilled.
Sebastian Lindrom is a smart young CEO, successful and ...a true psychopath, he has no emotions or feelings.
« My name is Sebastian and I'm the villain of this story. »
During a event hosted by the company his father owns, he meets Camille Briarlane, a young biology teacher, whose boyfriend works for Sebastian. Sebastian's darkness intrigues her and but for him that evening is the beginning of an obsession, an addiction, and that's why he simply plans... her kidnapping.
« The need to take her, steal her, almost overwhelmed me. »
The story is dark, suspensful, sometimes funny, sometimes bittersweet, all along compelling, as Camille and Sebatian learn to know each other. Although their attraction is undeniable, she comes up with different strategies to escape her golden cage while he does everything he can think of to make her happy, except the obvious...release her.
Camille's sassiness is really endearing and she knows how to push his buttons, which leads to intense scenes. Sebastian's complex personnality and reasonning is incredibly well handled, which mad me understand his point of view and by the end was in love with our villain !!!
« The pain you feel now is just a pale ghost compared to the happiness you'll feel once you realize the truth I have. »
« What truth ? »
« That you and I are two parts of a whole. »

Title: The Bad Guy
Author: Celia Aaron
Genre: Dark Romance
Release Date: May 21, 2017
Blurb
My name is Sebastian Lindstrom, and I’m the villain of this
story.
I’ve decided to lay myself bare. To tell the truth for once
in my hollow life, no matter how dark it gets. And I can assure you, it will
get so dark that you’ll find yourself feeling around the blackened corners of
my mind, seeking a door handle that isn’t there.
Don’t mistake this for a confession. I neither seek
forgiveness nor would I accept it. My sins are my own. They keep me company.
Instead, this is the true tale of how I found her, how I stole her, and how I
lost her.
She was a damsel, one who already had her white knight. But
every fairy tale has a villain, someone waiting in the wings to rip it all
down. A scoundrel who will set the world on fire if that means he gets what he
wants. That’s me.
I’m the bad guy.
