PHE.NO.ME.NAL. It all starts with the name of this third installment of the Tomb of Ashen Tears series. How perfect is it? Brilliantly so.


The tone, completely renewed, maybe less tormented than Famous Last Words',  surprised me. Clearly, the inspiration and creativity of Mrs Samuels knows no limit. Anticipation drove me crazy, as I kept wondering how things would turn out in this opus.

The maddening pace rendered me breathless. Action dances with emotions in an incredible intensity. 
Sensuality flirts with poetry. Add in the mix the most gruesome scenes then, you'll experience the magic of the author's universe.

I smiled. I cried. I laughed, truly laughed. I feared for them, and was scared by them. I screamed as I got nervous. (And at the same time so excited!)

As much as I wanted to rush into the story, starving for more, always more, I eventually ended up savoring, sipping every hint, information, revelation. Every word counts, nothing is left to chance. KRS' Shibari saga reached a new degree of intricacy, the bigger picture being more beautiful than ever.


EMILY is about making decisions, and owning the choices. More mature, with a determination that won't falter, Sal and his tribe grow up, deadly and formidable . *insert grins here*
Lines will be drawn, blood will be shed. In that ever changing game, where dynamics constantly shift, betrayal stings. Still, ties are reinforced.
"We keep moving. We do not draw attention to ourselves. We just keep going. And we do not quit."

Thanks to a striking realism, I felt like I was in Sal's head. Loving, hurting, raging along with him. That guy's imperfections only made me fall for him a little more (who knew it was even possible at this point!).
"I am trained for this. But fuck if it ain’t hard some days."

My favorite triangle Deacon/Sal/Iris set me on fire.  Through meaningful and touching scenes, they developed an intimacy, a passion, an acceptance I loved witnessing. Their love in the  is simply epic.
"And this is how we talk to fucking God. And this is how we survive. And how together, we thrive."
