Boston Underworld: The Collection by A. Zavarelli : New Release

Title: Boston Underworld: The Collection
Author: A. Zavarelli
Genre: Contemporary Dark Romance
Release Date: February 28, 2019
Model: Jonny James
Cover Designer: Coverluv Designs
The complete Boston Underworld series box set includes six full-length novels- CROW, REAPER, GHOST, SAINT, THIEF, CONOR.
CROW:
He’s a killer. A mobster.
The last man on earth I’d ever want to be with. He’s one of the only leads in my best friend’s disappearance, and I don’t trust him.
So I’ve got a few rules in mind when it comes to dealing with Lachlan Crow.
1.Keep a clear head and don’t get distracted.
2.Do what’s necessary and never forget why you’re there.
3.Never, and I mean never, fall for him.
REAPER:
He’s dark and mysterious. Quiet and lethal.
An Irish mobster.
Pure sin wrapped up in a beautiful package.
But there’s also something off about him.
He hasn’t spoken to me in two years. Not a single word.
But we share a secret, he and I.
And if it ever comes out, I have no doubt in my mind…
He won’t have a problem killing me too.
GHOST:
I have always been a bird. Caged by one prison or another when the only thing I ever wanted was to fly away.
Sold. Beaten. Starved. Drugged.
Nothing scares me anymore.
Until him.
SAINT:
Revenge is a dish best served in stilettos. I’ve got an eye for it, and nothing’s going to stand in my way. Not even Rory ‘The Saint’ Brodrick.
He’s a fool if he thinks he can change me. By the time I’m through with him, I’ll make his mafia look like child’s play.
Cross me, Mr. Brodrick?
You better cross your heart and hope to die.
THIEF:
He's Russian mafiya. A thief. A skilled liar with no moral boundaries. He is everything I have been taught to hate. A man who stands for nothing. A man who takes what he wants without a second thought.
And what he wanted was me.
CONOR:
Conor O’ Callahan was exactly the kind of danger I was trying to avoid. He was gorgeous as sin with an accent hotter than Hades, but that’s where the charm ended. He was also cynical, cold, and downright cranky.
So, you could imagine my surprise when he gave me a proposition. Marry him or lose my life.

A. Zavarelli is a book junkie, cat lover, and traveler when plagued by intense cases of wanderlust. She likes all things chocolate, books that come with warnings, and putting her characters through hell.
Her tales have been known to flirt with darkness and sometimes court it unabashedly altogether. Revenge themes and tortured souls are her favorites to write and this gives her an excuse to watch bizarre and twisted documentaries in her spare time.
She is slightly obsessed with Theo James and funny animal memes. If you don’t mind these things, you should add her on facebook.

KINKY SEX MAGIC by Kailee Samuels: Review

Kinky Sex MagicKinky Sex Magic by Kailee Reese Samuels
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

"Sex is sex and love is love. Never should the two intervene."

Whether you have read Juliet prior to this book, or not, you'll enjoy KRS's brilliant words.

Each chapter of Kinky Sex Magic is a behind-the-scenes look of Juliet, giving a new meaning, a new perspective to Sal and Iris' epic love story. To learn even more about them, to see that delicious but also deconcerting extra layer added to the already multi-layered read that is Juliet, felt incredible. What can I say, I'm a hopeless addict when it comes to Sal and his maddening world. Always hinting at a larger picture, the new revelations kept me on the edge of my seat. Expect the unexpected when it comes to the Juliet series!

As the first scenes stunned me by their beauty and erotism, the story rapidly and ruthlessly evolved into darker and rawer territory.

Sal, true to himself, brought out of me the most contradictory emotions. How frustating can he be!!!! Though I totally get his struggle, towards Iris and what he is/wants to be. The realism of his doubts, his vulnerability and at the same time, his protectiveness and need to be her dominant once more proved to be captivating. The more I read about him, the prouder of him I am. Iris, exploring her submission, making mistakes, fell and still rose; she continued her journey, seeking the love and the dominance of the Master Sal can't be to her.

“I’m not the sacrifice.” “No, baby... You are the Angel. More than words, more than words... You are my Angel."

The author perfectly captured their intimacy and connection, the intensity and complexity of their love. I truly can't wait to plunge into the next book!!!

DIE, MY LOVE (Anthology) : Review

Die, My LoveDie, My Love by Zoe Blake
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Hello darkness!

What to say about that anthology without giving anything away? The idea was absolutely original, I loved that each chapter of this novella was written by a different author, about a different couple, until you can feel the web of the ruthless storyline closing in on you; slowly the bigger pictures appears, revealing unexpected ties, taboo, sordid details.

Die, My Love is seriously messed up, surprising, gripping. It's a quick read, but the emotions it made me feel were visceral and intense.

I highly recommend it to readers who would like to experience a quick and beautifully woven mindfuck.

Well done, ladies!

TWISTED by Natasha Knight: ARC Review & Release Blitz

TwistedTwisted by Natasha Knight
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

“We were never strangers. History saw to that.”

Twisted was perfect. Gregory, lonely Greg had me curious when I read Natasha Knight's Dark Duet, and his and Amelia's story utterly captivated me.

The way the author approached those two scarred characters touched me. The symmetry of them was astounding, they truly were the perfect match. Their obsession for Helena,  their fascination for that faithful night that altered their lives was tangible, their darkness and pain were palpable.

"Memories are a curse. To remember is cruel. And I can’t ever seem to forget."

I loved Amelia's fire, the way they couldn't stop pushing each other's buttons, setting the rooms ablaze with their incredible chemistry. Jealousy swirls with rage, betrayal with hurt.

Trough raw and beautiful scene, scorching hot and tender moments, the plot unveils at a fast-paced rhythm the last fragments of the twisted truths, when eventually and superbly the story comes full circle.

"This is for us. For him and me. Blood and tears and pain and hate."

I VOLUNTARILY REVIEWED AN ARC COPY OF THIS BOOK. THANK YOU!!!

Excerpt

Prologue
Amelia

He says that together they twisted him.
Made him the monster he’s become.
But you can’t become something that wasn’t inside you all along.
A tear drops to the sketchbook on my lap, the blob smearing the lead. I wipe it away with the tip of my finger and watch the stain spread to the edge of the page.
I can’t seem to stop drawing that night.
The night when the Scafoni brothers stalked into our home and we were made to wear those rotting, disgusting sheaths and forced to stand on those ancient blocks as Sebastian Scafoni, first-born bastard, looked us over like we were cattle.
I can’t stop drawing the look on his face when he saw Helena.
Even if she wasn’t bound like she was, she’d have stood out.
She always thought herself the ugly duckling but she’s the most beautiful of all. She’s special. Always was. Different from us. And so much stronger.
Crap.
I swipe the back of my hand across my nose and listen to the sound of tears drop fat and heavy onto the page and this time when I lay my hand on the sketch, it’s to smear the wet across like maybe I can wipe away that night. Rub it off the page. Erase it out of history like it never happened.
“Oh, now look what you’ve done,” he says. His voice is deep and low, and I swear I can feel it as much as hear it.
He takes my hand with his gloved one and pulls it away.
“Ruined it.”
I look at him. I finally make myself look at him.
“I hate you.”
He grins. Shrugs a shoulder, his grip growing infinitesimally harder.
I glance at my palm—it’s black from the pencil—and look down at the page in front of me.
He’s right. It’s ruined.
But it doesn’t matter. I have dozens like it.
Hundreds.
Thousands.
I can’t stop drawing that night.
Can’t stop it from happening.
Can’t stop the Scafoni bastards from walking into our lives, upending everything. Coming into our home like kings, like they owned the place.
Although, I guess they did.
They owned everything. Our house. Our land. Our parents.
My sister.
Me.
I force myself to meet Gregory Scafoni’s dark eyes with their strange turquoise specks and wonder how I’d ever thought he was an angel.
My angel.
My savior.
When all he is, is the devil.

RØMA QUEEN by Callie Hart: ARC Review

Roma Queen (Roma Royals Duet, #2)Roma Queen by Callie Hart
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I've been waiting for more of Pasha and Zara, and there is Røma Queen!!! Second and last installment of the series, this opus illustrated the genre Callie Hart excels in: the romantic suspense.

Though the first and last parts of the book had a very different vibe, I enjoyed Pasha's playfulness and almost romantic ways. Wait until that bad boy alpha takes matters into his own hands, and you'll see how much of a King he is.

Zara, always feisty, sometimes reckless and utterly endearing, cracked me up. The romance, the banter and the chemistry between the two of them were amazing. Prophecy, manipulations, duty and Roma laws and traditions gave a pleasant rhythm to the story. I loved being immersed in Pasha's life and culture.

When the pace picked up after the first part, I found myself riveted to the story; I tried to collect the pieces of the bigger picture throughout Røma Queen. With every detail finaly unveiled, when every piece clicked into place, you'll be looking at an astounding

Please, pay attention to the cues, you're in for a treat!

THE SAINT by L.P Lovell: Blog Tour & ARC Review

The SaintThe Saint by L.P. Lovell
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

BOOM!!! What was that book? I knew that Mrs Lovell was able to write some twisted stories, but The Saint  is truly something else!!! I don't even know where to begin when it comes to that madness.

Saint, owner of Sanctuary, money forger, is the man you don't want to cross in your life. Trust me you want to stay away from him. When bad circumstances bring Eden on his radar, his controled life and daily routine are seriously put to jeopardy. Eden's brother disappeared a week ago and she is determined to find him. Nothing will stop her from unveiling the truth, and certainly not Saint.

I'm putting it mildly when I say the emotions brought up by this twisted and strange read were incredible. I felt Saint's fascination for his angel, his despair at the idea of ending up burning in hell. The images and visuals in this book were very strong, absolutely poetic.

"Blessed by an angel, baptised in her tears. His conflict, pain, rage were palpable in every page."

And like a lion stalking a vulnerable gazelle, his obsession with the heroine knew no limit. Eden showed courage, grace and strength. She is the purity Saint seeks in his tainted and sinful life. Her distress and fight felt like a punch in the belly.

But when in the hands if this delightful psychopath, what's the worth of her willpower? Saint is the  darkness of Eden's light.

“Look at you, so worried about one sin. You are fucking sin!”

Captivating characters, they will bring you down, right with them, through an incredibly strong plot. Mark my words, this books is brilliant, ingenious, daring and machiavellian.

"She’s my absolution, my salvation, and because of that, she’s become my obsession."

The Saint kept me wondering, on the edge of my seat, and played with my mind until. The. Very. End.
I just have to applaud the devilish creativity of the author. Well done!!!

Blurb:
My life was simple; God, business and myself, in that order.

Then I met an angel, and everything changed.

To be loved by an angel is to be loved by God himself...
EXCERPT:
“You’re acting crazy…crazier than normal. Why would you employ Eden?”

“So we can watch her.” There’s no we about it.

He snorts. “Two weeks ago you wanted me to kill her. Now you’re giving her a job. I see the way you look at her.”

Anger starts to bubble like lava, just waiting to spill over and destroy everything in its path. “And how is that?”

“Like she interests you. And nothing interests you aside from money.”

So he sees it. “My interest in her is money because she threatens it. Her brother threatens it.” The lies pour so easily from my lips with enough plausibility to fool my brother — he who knows me so well — the only one who would notice my attentions slipping.

“You aren’t focused.”

“I’m fine!” I instantly regret the slight loss of control, the snap in my voice because it proves an element of truth in his words. Pushing to my feet, I move to the bar and pour a half glass of whiskey before knocking back a full gulp and slamming the glass on the bar. I walk straight past him and yank the door open with a heavy groan of old hinges. I storm from the room, right into Eden. We collide, and she staggers back, dropping the tray of glasses in her hand. The crash can be heard over the music.

She drops to her knees immediately, scrambling to pick up the glass. “I’m sorry,” she says, glancing up at me through long lashes.  My cock twitches, my lungs shrink, and my pulse hammers out a staccato rhythm against my eardrums. She’s on her knees before me. Worshipping me, praying at my altar. The thought makes my cock painfully hard, and I can’t…think. A breath hisses through her lips, and she snatches her gaze away, lifting her hand. Blood pours from her finger, cascading down her hand so hypnotically. I drop to a crouch, grabbing her wrist and tugging her closer. The soft jazz music swells around us, and I know there’s a room full of people, but all I see is her…and her blood. So red, so vibrant. Our eyes meet, and I hold my breath, fighting the torrent of images flashing through my mind. Wings. Flames. Blood tears. Blood, blood, blood. Wings of crimson. An angel on her knees, a sacrificial offering. For me. To me. And she looks so good in blood, the crimson against that pristine, pale skin. No!

Shoving to my feet, I stagger away from her. “Clean that up,” I grunt before hurrying away.

She tempts the very darkest parts of me to the surface. Which is precisely why she should be dead, a little voice pops up in my mind. It would be so easy, her existence washed from this planet and thus my mind, as bleach washes germs away. I would feel cleansed. Fixed. Right. But if an angel is the voice of your conscience, encouraging good, then this…craving must surely be the work of the devil. Burning, burning, burning.

She tests me with her simple innocence and naivety, and how truly damned does that make me — that I should crave the destruction of something pure? She plays to my weaknesses, and that troubles me in ways I cannot fathom. This is what He wants, to watch me lose control, to watch me struggle for Him.

I need to get out of this club.

l've never run from anyone, but I’m fleeing from the monster she entices from deep inside me. I should never have offered her a job here. I keep walking, moving through the club and straight out of the front door, racing towards the salvation that I sorely need.

QUEEN by Keri Ann: Blog Tour and Review

Title: Queen
Series: Restless Souls MC #1
Author: Kerri Ann
Genre: MC Romance
Release Date: February 7, 2019
The Queen, is a woman not to be toyed with. She takes what was owed, keeping it until the debt is paid. I was a debt to be paid. I'd understood my lot in life early, knowing my life was forfeit. Until the day he arrived.
Dragged across the scrub, laid in the stone house, I watched and listened. I saw who he was. A kindred soul that was now a debt like me.
The Queen was playing her game and he was just a new piece on the board. His strength, his fury won't help against her cunning, and deciding to help him could be my death.
Following the story of the Broken Bows MC, the Restless Souls MC continues the battle with the vindictive wicked cartel Queen.
Tick tock. A chiming bell.
I'm your little slice of hell.
The King of cream. You made him fall.
A Queen. The heart. I'll stand tall.
The pieces set. The places dealt.
There's nowhere left to run.
I've set the board. I've set the trap.
Now it's your time come.
Down and down, until I win.
Your downfall is my sin.
The Knights will fail. One by one.
Until all the King's men fall.
Their power wains, I'm ready to maim.
They'll reap what they have wrought.
The victory is mine.
Brought out by their design.
Tick Tock. Tick Tock.
Time's up.
The Queen will win.
The Queen is a standalone, but is best read after King and Pawn from the Broken Bows MC. Recommended to read Christmas at the Clubhouse Anthology.

Mother of two insanely (well trained) sarcastic men, wife to a dangerously smolder inducing grumble bunny (fireman), and friend to some amazing ladies (you know who you are). Thanks for reading, thanks for being a friend, and I look forward to meeting you in the future for drinks, danger and laughs.
Living in Northern Ontario, Canada, Kerri loves to read, travel and find new reasons to write you fantastic love stories. Remember, not all love is clean. Dark, light, angsty, sexually charged and twisted—that’s her genre.
It’s heart wrenching stories where the muse directs her. As the instrument of their lives, the stories are told piece by piece with emotion, that has the story read like a movie. You can hope for the good guy to win, but it won’t always happen. She can’t guarantee an HEA (happily ever after) or HFN (happy for now), because life doesn't always have those.
Enjoy the OMG's and tears. Tear your hair out, toss a book or two, because I want you to feel their pain too. As they live it, absorb it on the pages.
